COROS PACE 4 Pro in Oman: Display, GPS, Battery and Training Features Explained

Choosing a sports watch becomes easier when specifications are connected to the way you actually train.

For runners, cyclists and triathletes in Muscat, the important questions are practical: can you read the screen quickly, follow an unfamiliar route, connect your sensors and finish a long session with battery remaining?

The COROS PACE 4 Pro combines a large AMOLED display with titanium, sapphire glass and several satellite modes. This guide explains its documented capabilities and the trade-offs worth checking before buying.

Specifications checked against official COROS sources on 21 October 2026. This is a documentation-based guide, not a hands-on performance test.

First, Check the Exact Model Name

PACE 4 Pro, PACE 4 and PACE Pro are separate products. Their specifications should not be combined.

For example, the PACE 4 Pro has a 1.47-inch display, while COROS lists 1.2 inches for PACE 4 and 1.3 inches for PACE Pro. A listing that shortens the name to “PACE” is therefore insufficient for a reliable comparison.

When comparing offers, confirm the full model name, strap material and included accessories.

Display: More Space for Maps and Training Data

The PACE 4 Pro uses a 466 × 466 LTPO AMOLED touchscreen. COROS specifies brightness reaching 3,500 nits, with an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1 to 60 Hz. Sapphire glass covers the display. See the official COROS PACE 4 Pro overview.

What That Means During Training

The larger screen provides room for maps and data fields. However, filling every available space is not always helpful.

For a running session, prioritise the information you can recognise immediately. For navigation, leave enough map area visible to understand the next junction.

The brightness specification is a manufacturer figure. It should not be interpreted as an independent guarantee of readability at every viewing angle or under every lighting condition in Oman.

Materials, Weight and Wrist Fit

Official specifications list:

Item PACE 4 Pro
Dimensions 47.6 × 47.6 × 11.8 mm
Weight with nylon strap 43 g
Weight with silicone strap 51 g
Bezel TC4 titanium alloy
Case cover Fibre-reinforced polymer
Strap width 22 mm
Water resistance 5 ATM; surface-water activities, not diving

The quoted thickness excludes the optical heart-rate sensor. The lightweight headline also refers to the nylon configuration, not every strap combination. See the official technical specifications.

A relatively light watch can still feel large on a narrow wrist. Check how the case sits and whether the strap holds it comfortably during movement.

Battery Life: Choose the Correct Operating Mode

The headline “60 hours” describes a specific satellite configuration.

Operating mode Manufacturer estimate
HIGH / All Systems Up to 60 hours
HIGH with always-on display Up to 45 hours
MAX / Dual Frequency Up to 40 hours
MAX with always-on display Up to 30 hours
Auto 40+ hours
Auto with always-on display 30+ hours
Daily use with sleep and stress tracking Up to 21 days
Daily use with always-on display Up to 7 days

These are COROS estimates. Navigation, display use, satellite reception and connected accessories can increase consumption. Figures follow the dedicated COROS battery table, consistent with the product overview. The purchase-page FAQ contains a conflicting MAX figure.

Plan Around Your Actual Settings

For a long ride or race, compare your expected duration with the mode you intend to use.

As an illustration, a 12-hour event occupies 40% of a 30-hour published rating. That calculation provides context; it does not predict your remaining charge.

Test your preferred combination of navigation, sensors and display settings during training before depending on it for an important event.

GPS and Navigation

PACE 4 Pro supports dual-frequency positioning. COROS describes this as a way to reduce the effects of reflected satellite signals around buildings, canyon walls and other challenging environments.

Its mapping features include street and trail names, contour information, points of interest, turn guidance and return-to-start navigation. The watch has 32 GB of internal storage.

A Useful Approach for Oman

For familiar open routes, consider the balance between endurance and positioning settings. For unfamiliar routes, prepare and inspect your course before starting.

Maps are useful support, but route suitability still requires judgement. A line on the screen does not establish whether a road is accessible or appropriate for your activity.

Training Features: Beyond Recording Distance

COROS lists dedicated running, cycling, swimming, triathlon and multisport modes.

Its training platform includes Training Load, Pace Strategy, VO₂ max estimates, Running Fitness, structured workouts, training plans and a route builder. The official product page also documents pool and open-water swimming, triathlon transitions and cycling power-meter support.

The practical value comes from using the features consistently. A structured workout is useful when you understand its targets; a training metric is more meaningful when interpreted alongside your recent sessions.

For a practical example, follow our guide to creating an interval workout in the COROS app.

Sensor Connectivity: Check Bluetooth Compatibility

The PACE 4 Pro connects to external accessories through Bluetooth. COROS explicitly places it among models supporting Bluetooth accessories rather than ANT+ accessories.

Supported accessory categories include heart-rate monitors, cycling power meters, speed and cadence sensors, and COROS POD 2.

Before purchasing, check the exact sensor and required data. An older ANT+-only accessory should not be assumed compatible.

Music and Voice Features

COROS documents a microphone and speaker for voice notes, calls and audible alerts. Its music support also allows locally stored audio with Bluetooth headphones.

However, COROS’s music documentation states that its watches do not support streaming-service apps. Offline music storage should therefore not be confused with installing Spotify or another streaming application on the watch.

Important Limits to Consider

Before choosing the PACE 4 Pro, check these points:

  • Wrist fit: assess the 47.6 mm case rather than weight alone.
  • Battery settings: always-on display changes the endurance figures substantially.
  • Existing sensors: verify Bluetooth support.
  • Water use: 5 ATM is not a diving specification.
  • Music expectations: confirm that local audio fits your needs.
  • Heat exposure: COROS specifies an operating range of −20°C to 50°C; avoid assuming that equipment left in direct sun remains within that range.

Who Should Consider It?

Based on its documented specification, the PACE 4 Pro is worth considering if you want a larger training display, onboard maps and substantial GPS endurance in a relatively light package.

Its advantages are less compelling if your current watch already meets your needs, you prefer a smaller case, or your essential accessories use ANT+ only.

Compare the watch against your routine—not simply the longest feature list.

Frequently Asked Questions
